The YMCA of Delaware has a full-time open position for an Assistant Child Development Director at our Downtown Wilmington branch location.

Under the direction of the Child Development Director, the Assistant Child Development Director is responsible for assisting with the administration of the Early Childhood & other YMCA Programs. Responsibilities include curriculum development, staff observation and feedback, daily center quality checks, personnel management, program development, equipment management, facility management & operating procedures. This position is responsible for effective communication with members, children, parents, staff, volunteers and community contacts.

Essential Responsibilities:

*Assists the Child Development Director with the overall operation of the early childhood program for assigned location. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
*12 months experience writing and implementing a multi-age curriculum
*Assists with recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling personnel and volunteers.
*Assists in reviews and evaluates staff performance.
*Develops, plans, and implements robust youth development curriculum in a standardized manner that ensures children engaged in rich academic and age-appropriate activities with imbedded hidden learning opportunities.
*Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university including at least 15 college/university credits in course content covering at least three of the following topic areas – child development, developmental curriculum planning, positive behavior management, health & safety, nutrition, family/community, and professionalism.
*Twenty-four months of experience working with school age children in a group setting.
*Twelve months experience developing age-appropriate and engaging lesson plans.
*Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR, AED and First Aid, Medication Administration, Universal Precautions.
